The Red Kite Challenge is an established, annual series of running and walking events with the profits going to support our local hospital. Events include junior (U20, U17, U15) & senior trail running races and non-competative walks.
For this year's Red Kite Challenge ½ marathon we are once again honoured to have been given responsibility to hold the UK Athletics Short Course Trail Championships and the Welsh Championships. The first three males and first three females will receive UK Championship medals. As for the junior runners and masters category winners they will receive TRA Championship medals and Welsh Championship medals. To go with the medals, there will be prizes for seniors and for the masters in five year age groups.
As the 10k is not a championship event there will not be any medals but there
will be prizes for the seniors and masters in 5 years categories.
There will be team prizes for both running events.
There will be a special memento for all the finishers in the running and walking events.
There will be race marshals, feed & water stations, a refreshment tent and first aid provision.
Our event, one of the most scenic trail races in Britain, is held around the spectacular beauty spot of Devil's Bridge which is about 20km East of Aberystwyth in West Wales
Devil's Bridge is famous for its narrow guage railway, the Mynach Waterfalls, the three bridges and 'The Arch' which is the watershed to the river Rheidol and the river Ystwyth. For officionardos of popular culture, the television detective series 'Hinterland' was filmed in the area.
